Typical challenges in HR projects
HR projects touch on sensitive areas: employee data, co-determination rights, labor law frameworks. Small oversights can have major consequences.
Forgot to involve the works council
The introduction of new systems affecting employees often requires co-determination. If the works council is involved too late, a project halt threatens – sometimes even after implementation.
Data protection for employee data
Employee data is subject to special protection requirements (GDPR Art. 88). Time recording, applicant data, performance reviews – without a data protection impact assessment and clear deletion concepts, you risk fines and loss of trust.
Complex approval chains
HR projects must go through many instances: management, works council, data protection officer, IT department, legal department. Who needs to agree when? Unclear approval processes delay projects by weeks.
Underestimated training needs
New HR systems and processes require extensive training – not only for the HR department but for all employees. The effort is systematically underestimated, leading to low acceptance.
